Summa summarum.



I am a yoga teacher.

After years of practicing yoga, this sounds slightly strange and it will take some time to get used to. But, it feels good and it feels right. So, we’re all good here. I already wrote about the course and I won’t got too much into that again. The only thing I will add is that I feel very privileged to have been taught by a very special team of some of the most experienced hot yoga teachers in Europe – Emma Croft, Karen Bellfield, Mark Oram and Michele Pernetta, herself. It’s been wonderful to watch these guys in action and practice with them. Their teaching is inspiring and fun. Michele’s sense of humour is legendary and she had us rolling on our mats with laughter more than once!

Now, they say each one of us is on a very personal journey. Both physical and otherwise. What I really want to write about here are some realisations and light bulb moments that occurred to me during this course. I will try and keep it short, as I could probably talk for hours ( just ask Tom, he’s had to listen to detailed elaborations of what’s to follow below, for days …)

  1. LEARN

First of all – Learn. Study. Inquire. Learn more. Keep learning. Never stop. Once you stop – it’s game over.

I love and want to share this quote from Mahatma Gandhi as it kind of summarises a lot of what I want to say here:

“Constant development is the law of life, and a man who always tries to maintain his dogmas in order to appear consistent drives himself into a false position.”


Do not be afraid to change. Change occurs at the borders of our comfort zone and growth can be difficult. It usually comes in ways we don’t expect or ask for. It can be uncomfortable and painful, very rarely it is pleasant. Despite this, do not run away from it; instead, lean into it. Always work hard.


And last, but not the least – stay true to yourself! I can’t stress enough how important this one is, especially when it comes to things close to your heart – what you do, people you love, how you live, where you live.

If you find yourself in a situation where nothing makes sense but your inner gut feeling is driving you forward. Follow it!

In another instance, and I am sure both you and I have done this on many occasions, if you are required to rationalise and list all the reasons why you do something to convince yourself you’re doing the right thing while a little voice inside is screaming in desperation – then you are driving yourself in a FALSE POSITION.

And that is ok too, but it probably means you will change a couple of false positions before you find a one that feels right and was meant for you. Hopefully.





PS. I went to check out Google Analytics and it’s visitors statistics for this web site today  and woooooo0000000000000000oooooooooow!   1. So proud of you. My practice today was the first one on the boat. I practice below deck because i am too embarrassed to do it on deck – and its cold. I can’t reach my arms abive my head and i have less than a yoga mat in width to move in. It also hurt and i have a lurgy. But i think of you and keep the faith. X

    1. J!!! Yoga is meant to be practiced at sunrise / sunset. You have the advantage over most of us stuck in the city that you now actually have a proper horizon, so get out on that deck, align your third eye with the sun and rock it as you do everything else. I love you! Xx

    Congratulations on this wonderful new state of being:-) I am truly inspired by your journey- and contemplating following in your footsteps so it’s very rewardingand inspiring to follow your honest and candid observations so far.. I wish you a fantastic journey onwards and hope to pop in on a yoga class of yours in London someday. Today’s post hit me smack in the middle so to speak as I’ve been planning a months away-3 weeks of this doing yoga in Bali witha friend. This friend unfortunately had to bail outtoday.. Now feeling a bit off my feet but. Will re- read your post later- I feel the answer lies there somehow.. So thx again and enjoy tremendously what you’ve achieved so far..

    1. Thank you for your comment and support! I am truly touched and feel that if I help even one person on their own journey than it’s all been worthwhile. Aside from that, on a personal level, my training has been a fantastic experience and I have learnt a lot about myself so if you are considering doing something similar and your circumstances allow it – I’d say go for it! Slightly envious about your 3 weeks in Bali!! Let me know what you decide! Also, please do get in touch if you are in UK/London. It would be so lovely to meet you in person! Best of luck! Una x

So glad to follow you on your new path and would love to meet you in person so I’ll definitely make an effort to get in touch when in London- and re Bali- I feel so blessed:-) Will post pics on insta for you to see and drop a line on how I experience the yoga there. Will be very interesting to see how body and mind respond to yoga twice daily- thinking to end days by meditation with singing bowls:-)
